Totally Annoyed W/ Twilight?

ahhh.. i got so bored this past week staying at my step-moms place that I ended up picking up the Twilight book to read. Surprisingly I like it =). I’ve read New Moon but never Twilight and I thought New Moon was horrible! Twilight though, I can see what the hype is all about. However, when I read I don’t picture bella as kristen stewart-y.

im not into Twilight, so Twi-hards be warned. Taylor Lautner is hot. Robert Pattinson is adorable. Kristen Stewart is a drowned rat. the entire message is completely stupid. there are fifth graders reading these books, and watching these movies, and putting these posters up on their walls. so inappropriate.

I really like the books. But oh, no, not the movies. I just can’t watch Kristen Stewart acting, it’s just so painful.

I think it’s about the same as letting your kid watch Cinderella. You have to make sure they know that these things (love) mostly don’t happen like that. I don’t like that they give unrealistic expectations to kids.

I (heart) HARRY POTTER!

I just never thought the books were written that well—even for teens or “tweens” or whatever. When I was that age I know I read things that were on a higher literary level.

Lots of people like story about vampires simply because they are beautiful, sensual, attractive and have sex appeal. They are interesting.

WOW… the movie is so BOOOOOOOOOOOOORIIIINGGGGGGGGGG! The books r ok but the movies… they r garbage

The writing is horrible. The movies, I can’t even watch them. Like, If I can’t take the books… How am I going to stomach the movie?

Gosh. If I have to see her attempt suicide every 10 minutes (commercials) because her already-dead boyfriend left.. Omo. I’m going to shed some tears.

…I just don’t see the appeal of a stalker boyfriend.

Twilight is basically porn for obsessive tween girls. The books are basically a form of erotica/genre fiction with a very simple/predictive plot and no literary worth other than the fact that they are easy for girls that age to read, hence causing a few that wouldn’t have previous picked up a book at all to do so. The author is a strange woman who admitted to having dream fantasies about a teenage vampire. And, because of the books’ religious overtones, the series’ main character, Bella, may not have sex in her teen years. Which is fine, and an alright lesson if you know your books’ audience. Except for the fact that the author says she can totally have sex, and even get pregnant right out of high school as long as she gets married first! That sort of life should not be glamorized. Young girls should not be getting married OR having sex that early and should not be blinded by this sparkly fluff writing into thinking that their boyfriends should be anything like the characters in the book who do nothing but pressure them into one thing or another.

I hate crappy sappy twilight just like I hate true blood. True blood’s only merit is that it isn’t as bad as Twilight imo, but it’s still sappy as hell (like when Sookie is all “why are vampires so…. mean?” srsly my 6 year old cousin can write that kind if dialogue). Twilight is even worse though. And I hate that all kinds of girls MY AGE (early twenties) are still drooling over that shit movie :D

Yeah! Never liked it, but I have read the books though, and in my opinion, they aren’t well written.

I read all the books and honestly, it’s really bad. Bella is a flat character (and in the movie she CANT act) and just the whole story is a bit so so. People needed a new Harry Potter for the new 14+ and those ppl just get more hysterical by the year, so it seems :p

I think they have turned it into a porn flick. Lol.

I liked the books. As a matter of fact, I read all of them in 1 day. They’re easy to read and are entertaining in my opinion.
