Every now and then, we’ll get questions and comments about how to redeem items, why something is valued at a certain number of Chic Points, or even where our Chic Rewards come from. We’ve put together a list of facts and reminders that’ll help you navigate through this dizzying, yet ultimately thrilling maze that is Chic Rewards.
Where does Chictopia get Chic Rewards?
1. Chictopia Editors will sometimes buy Chic Rewards for our community, just out of love :-)
2. Our sponsors, out of love for our community, donate items for active members in our community to redeem and use.
What Happens After I Redeem an Item
The item gets shipped to you, free of cost. If you live in the US, expect it in two weeks. If you live outside of US, expect four weeks for delivery. Every once in a while, we do slip but feel free to send Cheri a message if you don’t receive your items on time.
When you redeem an item, you must enter your full address so that your reward can be shipped to you. Incomplete addresses will result in the forfeiture of your reward. After all, completing the process more quickly because you did it incorrectly gives you an unfair advantage over users that are being more careful about filling out their information.
How Are Chic Points Valued
Chic Rewards are available to our community to reward active members and influential bloggers. We consider influencers active members of the community – either they post popular photos in the Style Gallery, write brand reviews, discuss topics in the forum or contribute to The Uglies. Their influence is reflected in the number of Chic Points they have. Chic Reward Editors and Sponsors want to reach out to influencers in our community that will appreciate and share the buzz about an item they received. The number of points our Sponsors designate to an item is up to them. Remember, the items are essentially free!
What can I do to get Chic Points?
Our FAQ lists out ways you can earn chic points here. You can also earn them by participating in our Twitter and Facebook Chic Point Giveaways.
The following actions are not allowed.
1. Chic Point spam – Leaving excessive comments or the same comment on different photos just to boost Chic Point count.
2. Chic Point valuation bashing – Leaving comments that speak negatively or are not constructive about the Chic Reward. It is up to the Chic Reward Editor or Sponsor to price it appropriately. At the end of the day, their goal is still to get the item redeemed. For those who do not yet have enough Chic Points to earn Chic Rewards, be patient and earn them diligently by making friends in the community, acquiring fans, and participating in our Twitter and Facebook Chic Point giveaways.
Oh, and we have some pretty amazing Chic Rewards coming up! Look out!
